The recurring theme of many of the Paris F/W 2010 RTW shows was that of feminized menswear or menswear redefined.
From Christian Dior's equestrian theme with riding habits of jodhpurs and plaid blazers paired with thigh-high boots and newsboy hats gave way to menswear appeal touched by femininity with sheer chiffon dresses over thigh-high boots which deemed ingenuity!
At Hermes, blatant menswear tailoring in slick black leather and grey wool, vests and overcoats with touches of brown and animal prints topped with bowler hats, ties, gloves, umbrellas and tophats. Looks like Hermes got the cue from Sherlock Holmes but tailored quite fittingly to the woman's body.
Even at Emanuel Ungaro, not only did we see numerous LBDs, we saw a mix of menswear, blazers and vests, with feminine blouses and dresses of lively colors and prints in silk charmeuse and sash-like, silk cumberbunds with colors to match the peep-toe shoes and clutches
Yohji Yamamoto took menswear to the next level with oversized, silk mens' shirts stretched out to become dresses, the usage of double-breasted overcoats and strapless A-line dresses that looked like overturned double-breasted coats all in black, navy or cream.
